RI High Schoolers can Earn College Credits for Free!
The Rhode Island Department of Education (ACN) is designed to help districts and schools by creating opportunities exclusively for Rhode Island high school students to envision, pursue and realize their individualized graduation pathway outside of the traditional school day.
Over 500 Rhode Island high school students have discovered ¹û¶³´«Ã½ by utilizing this unique opportunity to take college courses and earn college credits while still in high school. Learn by doing in our state-of-the-art classrooms and labs – for free!

Fall term classes at New England Tech begin October 5, 2026 and end end December 19, 2026. There are no classes on Columbus Day (October 12, 2026), Veteran’s Day (November 11, 2026), and during Thanksgiving Vacation (November 22 through November 29, 2026).

Address: Access Rd Campus, 65 Access Rd, Warwick, RI 02886Students will learn the fundamentals of both Oxy-Acetylene, MIG welding, SMAW welding and plasma arc cutting. Students will learn the equipment as well as safety precautions associated with each class of welding. Students will practice oxy-ace welding, MIG welding, SMAW welding, plasma and torch cutting techniques.

The course covers history, terminology and strategies involved in securing information assets and serves as a foundation course for more advanced studies in information, network and computer security. General and specific threats to information assets and defensive strategies for protecting those assets are covered. The course employs an integrated system of skill-building lessons, hands-on exercises, and self-assessment tools such as quizzes and lab worksheets.

Students are introduced to the technical knowledge base of pathology, intervention, and interpersonal skills through the use of collaborative and individual assignments and projects that focus on experiential learning. This course is designed to encourage leadership, written and verbal communication, initiative, and critical thinking. Students will be encouraged to invest time and effort into the course as well as interact appropriately and effectively with peers and faculty.

Students will be introduced to the potential job opportunities and the working environments of the different automotive industry and labs. Students will become familiar with the tools used in the repair of transportation vehicles and safety practices to be used. Students will also practice information retrieval as well as record keeping. Topics covered are safety in the lab, measuring tools, service manuals, scan tools computerized information retrieval, tool identification and uses.

Basic welding safety and welding component setup.

Address: One New England Tech Blvd, East Greenwich, RI 02818This course provides an orientation to respiratory care and healthcare organizations. Topics will include the history of respiratory care and the development of the profession’s core values and ethics, the respiratory therapist’s role in patient assessment, education, the promotion of wellness within diverse patient populations and communities, and patient confidentiality. An overview of medical terminology, healthcare reimbursement, credentialing, licensure, accreditation, and evidence-based practices will be included.
